After her 100-year snooze, Beauty awakes in a new time and place where everything is strange--the palace is gone, all the princes have given up, and now she has insomnia! Or is she still asleep and dreaming? As they did with Big River, Deaf West Theater delightfully twists another classic into a unique musical where spoken English and American Sign Language are interwoven with music, dance, and song to create an exceptional theatrical experience.

Bernard Bragg: World Stage

In Bernard Bragg's mind, all the productions he appeared in have gradually faded away to a blur--but what stays in his memory, etched on his mind, are the terrifying mistakes or accidents that took place while he was performing. Watch him tell stories about how he ad-libbed his way through them, managed to side step, correct, cover up, pull though and finally made it to the curtains triumphantly, bowing to applause with a big wide grin on his face! (90 minutes, no intermission; performed in ASL with voice interpretation)
SHOW DATES: September 23, 24, 25 @ 8pm; September 26 @ 2pm.
TICKETS: $20 adult, $10 children under age 13.

This fundraising event will forward eighty percent of ticket sales towards the Clerc's Children project. Clerc's Children is dedicated to empowering parents with the tools to help their deaf child meet pre-Kindergarten standards with bilingual skills. www.clercschildren.com. (75 minutes, no intermission; performed in ASL with voice interpretation or captioning)

Watch Jon, a spiced-up Deaf man, explore and re-discover his roots, incorporating the "spices" of life and culture with a multitude of Old- and New-World Spanish influences! Douglas Ridloff is a nice Jewish Boy who went blue after he discovered in his travels around the world that ditry humor was a common denominator among different cultures. Watch Douglas tantalize audiences with his unique spread of ASL genres, creative use of media and interactions with the audience! (2 hours, with intermission; performed in ASL with voice interpretation; CONTAINS MATURE THEMES)
