Bakersfield College students and staff (including students and faculty from the ASL Program) road the Amtrak for four and one-half hours to Sacramento. There they met as many as 10,000 of their colleagues to protest Governor Gray Davis's disproportionate cuts to community colleges. We feel that this unprecedented show of unity from community colleges throughout California was a monumental success.
