Pam Davis Pam Davis, a Bakersfield native, was introduced to American Sign Language by the Deaf community in Bakersfield at the age of 13. Upon entering Bakersfield College in 1984, she began formal study of ASL and interpreter training. Pam graduated from BC and transferred to California State University, Northridge where she earned a bachelor's degree in deaf studies. While a student at CSUN, Pam worked as an academic interpreter through the National Center on Deafness. In addition, as part of her undergraduate studies, Pam attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. for a semester. In addition to her studies, she also worked for GIS, Gallaudet Interpreting Services. After graduation from CSUN, Pam continued her education at California State University, Bakersfield and has completed her graduate-level course work in curriculum and instruction. She is an NAD-certified interpreter and is currently serves as the department chair for the Foreign Languages Department. |
