Course: Introduction to Library Research
Student Learning Outcome: Upon completing Introduction to Library Research, the student will be able to evaluate the credibility of information sources (online and print)
Assessment: Written Assignment in which the student evaluates an information source. This assessment is collaboratively written and re-evaluated each semester.
Criteria to Pass: The student identifies the two most important criteria: 1) the author’s/host credentials, and 2) point of view and purpose
Other criteria include 3) appropriateness/relevance and 4) source documentation
Course: MATH A, Elementary Algebra
Student Learning Outcome: Upon completing MATH A, the student will be able to graph a linear equation
Assessment: Given an equation in standard form, such as 2x-3y=12, the student will graph the equation, identify the slope and intercepts, and label at least 3 points

Course Title: Multi-Media Workshop (Summer Institute)
Student Learning Objective: Upon completion of the Multi-Media Workshop, the student will be able to create a usable power-point presentation.
Assessment: Survey given to students who view the PPT presentation given in their class. Completed by July, 2006.
Criteria for Success: 3.5 on a 5 point system
Student Learning Outcome:
Upon completing PSYCH 1A the student will be able to :
1) explain biological and physiological influences on behavior
2) describe and apply physical, social, and cultural factors that influence actions and attitudes.
Assessment: Analysis fo a case study of abnormal/dysfunctional behavior in humans
Criteria to pass: (C)
- shows a minimal discussion of all three factors

Student Learning Outcome: Upon completing Spanish 1AB the student will be able to converse in present tense with a reasonable volume of vocabulary
Assessment: A) presentation upon themselves

Program: Supportive Services (DSPS)
Student Learning Objective: Upon using Supportive Services, the student will be able to identify and utilize appropriate accommodations, including various technologies, to complete their goals.
Assessment:
Gather data for DSPS and non-DSPS students on:
A) certificate, degree, and transfer rates
B) course completions (# of units attempted vs. # of units earned)
C) successful completion rate (2.0 GPA)
D) number of contacts with DSPS (1-3,4-9,or 10+)
Then run two studies:
Compare rates for A,B, & C for DSPS and non-DSPS students, and
Further evaluation – A,B, & C rate for comparisons based on D
Criteria for success: In first study, the rates for DSPS students are equal to non- DSPS students
In the second study, rates are higher for students with more contacts, with an eye to determine if very high rates of contact may lead to dependency and actually lower rates of A,B, and C
