The history of Bakersfield College is replete with the rich interrelationships of students, teachers, alumni and supportive community members. It’s a history of our community, of our lives in the last 90 years, of our aspirations and our hopes. BC’s history is a compelling story that must be preserved for future generations. For that reason, I approached Dr. John Collins and Robert Allison, former BC presidents, to form an archives committee. Today, [under the co-direction of retired history professor, Dr. Greg Goodwin and retired Learning Center Professor Jerry Ludeke], the Bakersfield College Archives is collecting, cataloging and sharing the history of the college since its inception in 1913.
