I obtained my BS in Chemical Engineering (Petrochemistry) at
University of Arak in Iran. After that I went to France to continue my education
in 2000. I earned a Master’s degree in Analytical - Material Chemistry and a
PhD in Chemistry (Catalyst) at University of Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg
(France) in 2005. My thesis was financed by Total Company and the research subject was
Fischer-Tropsch reaction (transformation the natural gas to oil). I worked one year as a postdoctoral researcher at Laboratory of LMSPC
in France. The research was using a new catalyst to transform Methanol to
Olefins. I came to the US in 2006. At the present, I am working at San Joaquin
Refining Company as a chemical engineer in Bakersfield, California. I started teaching as an adjunct instructor at BC in August 2007. This
is my second experience in teaching (I taught chemistry and math at a high
school in Iran for two years (1998-2000)). I am also teaching chemistry at Mt.
San Antonio College in LA since Aug 2008. I am glad that I can participate in
these challenging experiences. During my education, I have worked with these instruments: Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), X-rays Photoelectron Spectroscopy
(XPS), Gas Phase Chromatography (GC), Mass Spectrometry (MS), Specific surface area measurement and porosimetry by N2
adsorption (BET), X-Rays Diffraction (XRD), Temperature Programmed
Oxidation (TPO), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron
Microscopy (SEM). Patents: Co/Monolith
