Welcome to the website for Kern Community College District's chapter of the Community College Association (CCA) --- the union for all faculty members (full-time and part-time) in the district! We represent all the faculty at Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso College, and Porterville College. Some of the issues that we deal with on your behalf are: Intellectual Property Rights, department chair duties and evaluation, evaluation and tenure procedures for all faculty, work load size, class sizes, counselor/librarian professional activities, layoff procedures, compensation and benefits, absences and leaves policies and procedures, procedures for complaints against faculty, safe working conditions, and more. All of the policies, procedures, and agreements we have with the Kern Community College District are spelled out in our contract.
