Counseling Center is located in the Student Services building lower level, located in the center of campus.
Office hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00
pm Fridays.

No friends or family are admitted into the New Student Group Counseling
Workshops due to limited computer seating.
Continuing or returning
students may make a half-hour individual appointment with a counselor during the semester
(availability permitting),
or drop-in to see a counselor. Advisors are also available during the week days.
Counseling appointments are not available during peak registration
periods or during the summer.
As a courtesy to other students and staff we ask students to be on time for their Workshop or individual
Counseling appointment. Students arriving late will
be required to reschedule. Check in at the counter 15 minutes prior to your
appointment or scheduled workshop.
Please call 24 hours in advance, if you cannot keep your appointment.
No Show Policy The Counseling Department
No Show Appointment Policy
states:"If you have
2 No Show
appointments,
you will not be able to schedule another appointment in the same semester, but
instead will only be allowed to see a counselor on a drop-in
basis".
Drop-In
Drop-in counseling is available. Students are taken on a first come, first
served basis by signing in at the front counter.
Academic/Disqualification Workshops Students are required to
attend a Disqualification
Workshop.
Call 395-4421 for times and dates, or to schedule an appointment for an
Disqualification Workshop when you received a letter and are on academic
probation, progress probation, or disqualified from Bakersfield College.
Online counseling/advising is not available at this time.
Online counseling/advising
is intended for quick
answers and quick solutions only.
Generally, responses are returned M-TH, except during peak
registration periods. Online Counseling/Advising will not replace a counseling session for

you may submit a brief question to the online Counselor. Graduation checks
and transcript evaluations are not performed by online
Counseling/Advising. A counselor will respond
to your question M-TH within 48 hours.

Advisors are available in the Career Center
located in the Counseling Department, Financial Aid Office, and Delano Center to assist
students. Advisors are available to assist students who have declared goals with course selections, course selection for
majors, transfers, certificates and degree programs.
Advisors may also approve overloads, retest authorization
forms,
graduation checks and assist students in locating career
information resources. Advisors are available to see students on a
drop-in, first come, first serve basis.
Delano Community Campus
Counseling services are also
available at the Delano Community Campus. Call to learn
availability of a counselor.
