Announcements Physical Science 12 Transfer Day is 9/13/2010, 9-1 pm in the Fireside Room/Campus Center. You must remember and follow the following rules. Please write your name on the Scantron Answer Sheet (form 882) AND your test booklet. Please DO NOT write on the periodic tables distributed for your use. No scratch paper. You may write on your test booklet. Please turn off all electronic equipment, including cell phones, except your calculator and store them out of sight. You may use your book and notes but no sharing of materials. No leaving the class until you have finished the test. Please keep your eyes on your own paper. Please remove all baseball caps or other hats with visors shielding the eyes and please keep your hands away from your eyes. Any disregard of these instructions or other suspected forms of cheating will result in a zero score for the exam for all those involved. Turn in your Scantrons, periodic tables and test booklets in front of the class in separate stacks (upside down and aligned in the same direction) when you have finished. Grades will be posted by late afternoon the day after the test. Chemistry Week Poster Contest. Students are invited to make a 12x16
inch poster (no bigger) on the theme of
“Behind the Scenes with Chemistry” (Showcases
the difference between what we see in television, movies, and literature and
the real science behind the “magic” and mystery of special effects,
hair/make-up, and forensics.) sponsored by the American Chemical Society.
Posters are due by 4pm on Monday10/18 in SE12. Posters that address
the theme and look professional (no handwriting) will receive up to 10 extra
credit points. The posters will be displayed on tables in the hallway
outside of SE12 where students can obtain a ballot and vote on which they
like the best. Ballots that are completely filled out, including a
valid reason for their choice, will receive up to 3 extra credit points.
Students that make poster can votes as well. Other chemistry classes
will participate. The top 2 or 3 posters according to the student vote
will receive 2G, 4G or 8G flash drives as prizes and will be featured in my
Chemistry Week web page. You can look at past years'

You will have 24 hours after the test to report any errors in the overall posted grades. After that all grades are final with or without errors.
