LD Testing

Learning Disability Testing Process

If a student has another disability or takes medication for any condition, they should talk with a DSPS Counselor or Learning Disabilities Specialist before starting LD Testing.

To begin the testing process:

Contact DSPS located in Family and Consumer Education (FACE) room 16 to receive the date and time for the next group preliminary testing session. Spring 2009 group preliminary testing information.

The next step:

After you have completed the initial paperwork and achievement tests in a group preliminary testing session arrangements will be made for you to take the Learning Disability Test. The test takes several hours to complete and you will be given individual appointments.

After you complete the testing:

You will be scheduled for an appointment to meet with the Learning Disabilities Specialist. She will discuss your test results with you. At the end, you will be given a summary of the results and a list of recommendations. If anything is unclear to you, be sure to ask questions while you are with the LD Specialist.

Your last step:

Finally, make an appointment to discuss the test results and any other concerns with your DSPS Counselor (FACE-16, 395-4334). You may also want to discuss your career goals and/or your education plan with your Counselor at this point.
*If you are a Department of Rehabilitation client:
Ask the LD Specialist to send a copy of your test results to your Rehab Counselor.
