Department:

The mission of the Department of Fire Technology Department is-

"...to reduce the burden of fire losses on life, property and the environment, by providing the highest quality of fire science-based education, research and outreach in the fire service, and in fire-related safety, health and environmental issues. "

To this end, the department offers many certificate programs through the California State Fire Marshal office, NWCG and NFPA. In addition the program offers the following Certificates and Degrees.

Fire Technology Certificate  
A.A. or A.S. degree in Fire Technology.
A.S. Degree in Wildland FireFighting
  Faculty members are active in a variety of research and outreach programs.
