Research Library
The Fire Technology Program has developed a fire research library.
The library contains text books covering all the core fire tech.
classes. NFPA Fire Codes, ICC Fire Codes, California Fire Codes, UL
Standards, and many other text on code interpretations. In addition
there are fire engineering magazines, technical research articles and
much more. We have a desk and computer access to the internet for
doing online research to complete your research papers, which are
required in each of your classes.
Policy On Library Use
The research material contained in the library must be used in the
library, no books or other material etc. can be checked out of the
library. So students please take advantage of this excellent resource,
which is available to all Kern Communities College Fire Technology
students.
Online Fire Courses
The Department of Fire Technology is proud to be one of very few colleges to offer
on-line fire technology courses over the internet. Our internet courses
started in 2000, we currently run two internet class per semester. We
have plans to offer two additional fire tech. classes online in the
fall of 2009 giving a total of five online fire tech. classes.
The Fire Technology Program has switched to Moodle as our delivery
platform for online fire tech. classes. All of our online classes will
now look and work the same.
