Appalling Apostrophes
Supplementary Materials for the "Appalling Apostrophes" Workshop
The apostrophe has two primary uses: to form possessives of nouns and to show the omission of letters (forming contractions). It is also used to indicate certain plurals of lowercase letters. Apostrophes are NOT used for possessive pronouns or for noun plurals, including acronyms. For more information, see Using Apostrophes and Common Apostrophe Errors.
