Rick Steves' lecture extra credit (chapter 3): Rick Steves' speaks to an admittedly liberal Seattle audience on the topic of "Travel as a political act". You can watch the segments on Youtube here or download the podcasts on itunes (free-search "Rick Steves' lecture"). The question for the extra credit: Which types of history does Rick Steves' lecture series honor and which types of history does his lecture series challenge? Write a 1 page analysis in support of your answer using Chapter 3 as well as the lecture series itself to support your opinion. (10 points)
Cultural Festival extra credit: Write a 1 page single-spaced analysis of any cultural festival you attend during the semester. Use the chapter we are studying on the date of your festival attendance as the filter through which you view the festival. Write a 1 page single-spaced analysis regarding the cultural importance of the festival (use the chapter we are currently studying when you attend to support your analysis). (10 points)
