(((October 17 & 24, 2009)))

You must pre-register at: http://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/levaninstitute/classes_fall09.asp

Two Saturday mornings - October 17 & 24, 2009,  9am-12noon.

A fun six hour class I developed for anyone who has an interest in making soap.

Learn to make naturally colored and richly aromatic soaps and fizzing bath bombs in a variety of shapes and sizes. Give homemade gifts to your friends and family!

The first class you will learn what soap is made of and the chemistry of how it is formed from common household ingredients.  Then get ready for some hands-on work!!  You will make the soap in a chemistry laboratory, color it, scent it, then pour it into assorted molds or hand shape it.

The second day of class you will be making fizzing bath bombs in the lab.  You will also learn the chemistry of the bombs and the cleaning process in general.  You will be going home with a handful of finished bars of soap and fizzing bath bombs.
