Course Summary:

Geography is the study of the earth as an open system. All systems contain various different processes required for sustainability. The earth is no exception to these rules and is driven by both shortwave and longwave energy. Discussion topics for this class include energy, weather and climate, geology and geomorphology, and geographic techniques. The main goals of the course are to get people to realize that there is a bigger world outside of their familiar realm, and that geography is no longer just names and places on a map.
