Here is a thought-provoking video of a contributer at a United Nations conference on the environment. Feel free to pass this on to others. I received it from a fellow employee at BC.

I teach various chemistry classes at Bakersfield College, and have been doing so since 1992. This fall (2009) I am teaching a nightime chem 1a class. I am also the chair of the physical science department.

Materials relevant to this class will be found by following the link below, as it becomes active later in the summer. Do note that the Moodle web site is reserved for the students.

The chem 1a textbook for the 2009 fall semester has been chosen.

The text will be Chemistry: Structure and Dynamics, 4th Edition (2008) by Spencer, Bodner, and Rickard.

This will be accompanied by a workbook, Chemistry: A Guided Inquiry, 4th Edition (2008) by Moog and Farrell

Much information found here (and on the rest of the BC site) is in the form of .pdf documents, so you will need Adobe Acrobat reader to read and print them out. Click here to go to Adobe's website, where you can download the latest version of the free reader. (There is so much information on the Web in this form that your computer very likely already has the reader installed. If not, it is easy to install and use!)
