FYI: I earned a BS in chemistry at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and an MA and PhD in physical chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin. My research at UTA was on gas adsorption (not absorption) and reactions on rhodium metal and I used electron spectroscopy and mass spectrometry to do it. I worked at IBM in Austin, TX and East Fishkill, NY solving problems in the development and manufacturing of circuit cards and integrated circuits (silicon chips). Part of my work involved developing Laser Desorption Mass Spectrometry to analyze small particles less than 10 micrometers in diameter. Later I worked in sales with IBM in central Illinois and Flint, Michigan and taught a night chemistry course at Mott Community College in Flint and taught physical and general chemistry at the University of Michigan in Flint for a year. My next stop was seven years at Bakersfield (CA) College where I taught the first and second semesters of general chemistry, introduction to general chemistry and Materials Science. From the Fall of 2000 to the spring of 2005, I taught the same classes at Modesto Junior College and in the Fall of 2005 I returned to Bakersfield College.
