The Chamber Singers is an elite group of vocalists led by Dr. Ron Kean. The Singers repertory encompases a board spectrum of musical styles: Medieval through Contemporary art music, world music, popular music, show music, and opera. The Chamber Singers performed music from 11 countries on their recent tour of Hawaii. Current invitations include performances in Cuba, Venezuela, and in Rome. The Chamber Singers were selected by audition to perform at the National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association in San Antonio, Texas in March, 2001. They are one of only 46 choirs selected from 300 who submitted auditions tapes from all over the United States. More than 6,000 conductors will be in attendance. This is the highest honor that a choir can achieve on the national level. A select choral group, specializing in rehearsal and performance of all choral literature for all historical periods. Public performance required for credit. This course is transferable to all UC, CSU and private colleges. They meet once a week in the Choir Room.
